Just as we are experiencing the first chills of Autumn, we’re already looking ahead to Spring Summer 2014! New York Fashion Week has just come to a close but we thought we would take you back and share some of our favourite runway looks.
First up, Rag & Bone showed us how far they have come since they first started out by presenting a sleek RTW collection inspired by Japanese minimalism combined with 1990s boxy silhouettes.
Rag & Bone have proved that cropped tops are here to stay, presenting them along with summer leather jackets, apron-topped dungarees and sleek mesh dresses.
Next, Milly by Michelle Smith delivered a collection with more grunge influence than usual. Fully embracing mesh materials and bralet tops which are remaining a wardrobe essential for another year. Here at Yayer, we love a bit of mesh so of course we love this collection!
In this collection we saw versatile high and low waisted pencil skirts, boxy bomber jackets and a great selection of dungarees - also a Yayer favourite. Whilst presenting an edgy collection, the use of great materials and a thick black waist band meant these designs will compliment a range of body shapes and helps emphasise the hour glass figure which dominated the catwalk at this show.
Across all of New York, monochrome palates were gracing the runways of most designers, including Calvin Klein, Thakoon, and Theyskens Theory.
Whilst Jeremy Scott once again won everyone over with his imaginative prints and midriff bearing crop tops!
Stick with Yayer to get your Spring Summer 2014 essentials but for now we’re off to check back in with LFW. We’re really being spoiled this month!
